Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for developing and analyzing data used in the preparation and filing of required SEC reports (10K, 10Q, 8K, S4, 11K, etc), as well as conducting the analysis and development accounting of white papers to support technical accounting positions taken by the company, and interfacing with external auditors.  Additional responsibilities include the preparation and oversight of government reports and additional projects as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Works as a partner with Assistant Corporate Controller in preparing all SEC filing in terms of footnote preparation, reconciliation of support documents to the filed documents, formatting of the filings both internally and through 3rd party services, and all other related activities.
Interface directly with the external auditors during their reviews or annual audits to reconcile and support information included in external filings or requests from the auditors.
Performs corporate analysis and provides technical insight on accounting issues and prepares white papers as necessary to support company accounting practices and policies.
Executes the collection of management rep letters and commitments and contingency letters from business and corporate personnel at quarter and year-ends.  Raises and assists with resolution of identified issues on this report at all levels within the corporate control function.
Ensures activities are planned in a timely manner to achieve an accurate filing processing.  Performs quality control check on all SEC and external filings.
Central contract point for governments reporting requirements.  Responsible for completing these reports directly and coordinating/organizing support from other functions to assist with the completion.
Other projects/duties as assigned or needed.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting
CPA Required
Recent experience in public accounting or an SEC reporting role
Ability to get things done through others
Strong attention to detail and understanding / willingness to drive quality control procedures around SEC & other government filings
Strong customer and results orientation
Problem Solving skills and focus on continuous improvement
Sense of urgency and decision making skills conducive to managing priorities and meeting internal and external timelines

Required Length & Type of Experience:

5-7 years of experience in public accounting and/or SEC reporting experience in a manufacturing setting
